Below are a few of the most common questions we've received. We don't like surprises and we don't want you to have any, either. So please, if you have a question we haven't answered, contact us! Open, honest dealings leave everyone satisfied.

Do you only quote jobs, or can you just fix things on my list?
We'd be more than happy to come out and check things off your fix-it list! This is typically done on an hourly basis at $45/hour, and we will be able to give you a fairly accurate estimate of how long your list should take us.
What is a handyman, and how is that different than a contractor?
A handyman may or may not be licensed by the State of Arizona. Licensing is granted for specific trades (e.g. Electrician, Plumber, etc.). Arizona has a "handyman" exemption for:
- work totaling under $1,000 for labor and materials, excluding appliances over $1,000 that can be plugged in
- must be of a "casual or minor nature"
- not require a permit and
- must not connect to natural gas, propane, etc.

Typically, a handyman has a broad range of skills and can fix and build many things. Contractors, while able to perform work over $1,000, are specialists in a single trade only.
Do you repair appliances?

Are you insured?
Yes, we are. We carry $500,000 liability protection through Hiscox, who has an A and A+ rating through A.M. Best, Fitch, and S&P.

Who does the work that you quote?
We do. We do not hire subcontractors under any circumstances. If we can't do the work ourselves, we'll tell you that. In some cases, we can offer suggestions of people or companies that have done work for us personally, but those referrals are from our own experience using them. We receive no compensation in any form whatsoever for a referral, not even reciprocal referrals.
What's this going to cost me?
Our "Services" section here has many prices already listed, and in most cases these can serve as a fairly close estimate. We will happily give you an estimate over the phone, through text, or email in many cases. We do need to see the location in person before we offer a quote. Quotes are firm prices and in many cases are exactly the same as the estimate, but there are times (not often!) that individual location limitations in your home/rental/office change or preclude certain types of work.
Some work is performed hourly, at $45 per hour, and we'll give you an idea of how long we expect to take. Most jobs are quoted as a complete job, though.
What if you can't fix it?
You won't owe us a nickel. That's only fair.
At the time of the quote, we can schedule a day and time for installation. We will be there promptly and ask that you be ready for us. Some work requires us to schedule fairly far in advance to accommodate a customer's schedule, but for the most part, we try to work on projects quickly after we're contracted.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We do not ask for deposits or material costs up front. Payment in full is required at the completion of the project. We cannot bill your company or send an invoice anywhere.
Cash is always acceptable, but we don't carry any money with us to "make change". If you'd like to pay with cash, please have the exact amount.
Personal and company checks are accepted as long as they are pre-printed with the address of the quote and drawn on a local bank.
We accept PayPal payments.
We also accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. For these, we use a "Square" card reader that plugs into a cell phone, processes the transaction, collects your signature and either texts or emails you a receipt. We do not store credit card information and have no way to look at the transaction once it has been completed. If you're at all uncomfortable with that technology, please have another form of payment available at the time of completion.
We do not accept Venmo, Bit Coins, or any other payment method. We cannot take trades or "trade work" (comparable services being exchanged).
In all cases, regardless of payment method, you will be given a signed invoice marked Paid In Full.
What about pets?
We are dog and cat friendly! Dogs don't bother us (although we may stop to say hi to them briefly), and we're very cat-conscious (that is, we make sure the doors are closed). Certain types of projects require a fair amount of in-and-out of your house, though (for example, baseboards are measured indoors, cut outdoors, brought in and installed one at a time). For those projects, we would prefer that your pets be kept in an area where they cannot sneak out while we carry things in and out of the house.
What do we need to supply?
Well... that depends! We will discuss exactly what (and how much) you'll be providing and we'll put that on the quote form. Very few things need you to supply the materials, but a couple things that do are the fabric for custom valances, interior or exterior paint, etc. We will help you with what to get and how much, but we won't pick out or pick up paint, fabric, etc.
We subscribe to the "buy once, cry once" philosophy of tool acquisition. We make a living with our equipment, and invest in top quality, highly accurate tools. We treat them like the investment they are. One of the benefits to hiring a handyman is having access to professional, quality equipment that is very expensive to rent, and to expertise in the use of those tools.
